The Mission of the United Deist Church

      To promote Deism as an alternative to Revelation-based religions, and as the best hope of humanity to find peace, prosperity, and the pursuit of happiness. We believe that if the world were to accept Deistic Principals, then the world would be a better place for ourselves, and for our children. We will promote Deism as a positive force in the future of humanity, to replace the negative forces that have been unleashed throughout history by the revealed religions. Reason, Equality, and Exploration of the Creation are the Path that will lead humanity into the future. We are your fellow travelers on that path.

      To support the foundation and growth of local groups and churches of Deism, and indeed of all Rational Religions. We will provide a national level organization known as the United Deist Church that will provide communications, organization, literature, and more importantly, ideas to aid and foster this growth. We will focus on bringing Deists together, in the real world and online, to participate in Deism discussion and fellowship.

      To foster both the spread of Deism and the organization of local churches by reviewing, approving, and ordaining Deist ministers across the world. Those of us who believe in the mission and vision of the UDC will serve other Deists by accepting the responsibility of becoming Deist ministers. A Deist minister will be a friend, guide, and administrator to local groups and churches, and also will serve as the principal missionaries of Deism throughout the world. Ministers will also provide Deistic ceremonial services for Deists and others for the important events of our lives.       To promote the use of Reason to discuss Deist philosophy, theology, the Creation, and indeed all aspects of the human condition in an environment of Free-thought and cordial discussion. No one person can ever hope to understand all that the Creator has provided us, and it is only in community that we can hope to approach truth. We will provide an online forum for such discussion, but more importantly we hope to foster such intellectual pursuits among our local churches and groups.

      To promote the concept that Deism no longer has to be a personal religion of isolation. The United Deist Church will help to foster a sense of community and fellowship among Deists, and will support the creation of religious ceremonies, and services that our local groups and churches may desire to perform, while not dictating to those groups. We do not desire uniformity, rather, we desire diversity. Our goal is to provide the support necessary for the local groups and churches to become whatever they believe will fill the needs and desires of their members.

      To represent Deists and Deism on an equal footing with all the other religions on the world stage. Deism has often been regarded as a secondary religion by other religious and governmental institutions. We will provide an international level structure that can represent and defend the religious rights of Deists around the world, while providing a format in which Deists can maintain accountability over the actions of this national level structure. The UDC exists to serve Deism, and more importantly, Deists.
